I like alot of games, but there are some that are just ABSOLUTE CINEMA. Like ESPECIALLY Deltarune and Silksong are just so Insanely good, It makes me so grateful that there are such creavtive people on earth that pour their heart and soul into their projects. With that said, Here are some of my favorites:
As of writing this, Chapters 1-4 have released, And DAMN were they good. Going into chapter 3, I had already played the pacifist, Genocide, and Snowgrave routes, And I had already gone deep into the Deltarune theory rabbit hole. On June 4, I remember waking up at around 3AM, and of course not being able to go back to sleep. Deltarune was releasing at 8AM, so I did whatever I could to pass the time, whether it be walking, drawing, playing piano, or whatever else. when 8AM finally rolled around, I struggled and Struggled to buy it on Steam, until I was finally able to give Toby Fox my hard earned money. I loaded up the game, filled with excitement, and proceeded to play for 12 hours straight. It's safe to say that Deltarune Is one of my favorite games ever lol.
I mean... Did anyone really NOT expect it to be one of the best games ever when it came out? I mean sure you could argue that the game is too hard, and there's useless fetch quests that aren't neccasary for the game, but C'mon. It's Amazing. Combining the animation, smooth movement, Difficult but fair difficulty, all makes for a breathtakingly good game, all for like $26 CAD. My one complaint with it would be that there are many secrets that seem impossible to find on your own without a guide, some of which are essential to get 100%. I don't really know how people even 100% silksong without an online guide, or without the help of friends to show you the locations of secrets. Other than that, I think that the game is nearly perfect. the feeling of relief when you finally beat a really hard boss, or the sheer flabberghastment when you see one of the beautifully animated cutscenes, the many NPCs that you meet along the way, all add to it's 10/10 rating.
So. Obviously Terraria is a vastly different game from Silksong or Deltarune, so it would be unfair to compare them. That being said, I do find it quite a bit less enjoyable than some other games, but that could just be because I've played it for around 2000 hours, and I've gotton a bit sick of it. Don't get me wrong, I still love it, but after you've played every single difficulty and every single class multiple times, it starts to feel a bit "Same-y." I think Terraria 1.4.5 is set to come out soon which might be the exact thing that I need to start playing it again. It's progression is pretty good, and It's fairly difficult as you get later into the game. The best part about it is 100% playing with your friends though. Playing side by side, defeating bosses together, with ANY friend, will no dought make the experience twice as fun.
I think Minecraft, for me, has a similar rating to Terraria in terms of how much fun I have when playing it, albeit maybe a little higher. The difference is that Minecraft is more focused on the exploration and Building, so it makes it easier, and more fun to play with a broader group of people. I have been playing Minecraft since I was a little kid, and I have mostly enjoyed playing it. As I got older, I got more into playing the game with mods, just to give myself that feeling of needing to learn how to accomplish certain tasks within the game again. I haven't really played Minecraft in the past year or so, but I know that I would still find it very fun to play on a server with friends in the future.
